it's always wonderful reading postings about Symposium, wspecially from people that dined there back in the '70's when my dad still single handedly ran it. Thank you, Eva Kotsonas Dimitri's Daughter - Is follow up to post by laberis ...
I first ate at Symposium as college student in 1971 and go there every chance I can when visiting NY on business. All I can say is the food is wonderfully authentic (did I mention I am Greek?). The service attentive and friendly. The atmosphere is congenial, particularly in warm weather when you can eat out back. Super place and you'll have trouble spending more than $25 per person, including drinks. Afterwards, take a stroll through Columbia's campus - my alma mater - one block north. -- 3/16/2004 6:14:52 PM
